The black and gold is original paint.
The car
Lotus 95T, 1984 season. The carbon comes from a front wing endplate. The vertical panel at the end of the front wing off the car Nigel Mansell raced that year.
The livery
The John Player Special marks were hand-painted inside the Lotus factory over forty years ago. Same paint that ran in '84, not a reproduction, not a reprint. It's the first and only Sixty One release to carry JPS colours.
The verification
This piece was bought from a respected memorabilia dealer who purchased the wing from a Lotus Engineer. Every piece is checked against the carbon weave, dimensions, screw and bolt-hole placements, component marks, usage patina and the hand-painted JPS marks. Each wallet ships with a signed certificate documenting its origin.

How do I know the carbon is really from Mansell's 1984 Lotus 95T?
Each piece is verified through its carbon weave, dimensions, screw and bolt-hole placements, component marks, usage patina and the hand-painted JPS marks. Every wallet comes with a signed certificate of authenticity documenting its origin and its connection to the 1984 season.
How big is it and how many cards does it hold?
110 × 67 mm. There are six card slots and a cash compartment. We quote eight cards because the two largest slots comfortably take two each.
Is it an everyday wallet or a display piece?
Everyday. The carbon is securely set into the leather, and the leather is built to be used — plenty of owners carry it as their main wallet.
What makes the leather special?
It's Badalassi Carlo Minerva, vegetable-tanned in Tuscany. Cheaper wallets — and some expensive ones — use chrome-tanned leather with a surface finish that eventually wears off. Vegetable-tanned leather has no coating to lose; it ages instead. Badalassi Carlo are members of the Consorzio Vera Pelle Italiana Conciata al Vegetale, which guarantees Tuscan vegetable-tanned production.
How do I care for the leather?
Very little. Keep it away from excessive moisture, and use a leather conditioner every 6–12 months to keep it supple.
How limited is "limited edition"?
130 wallets, and that's it. Once they're gone, nothing more can be made from this endplate — and it's the only Sixty One release in JPS colours.

Then Dallas. His first pole position. And on the final lap, gearbox gone, the image that followed him for years: Mansell pushing the car toward the line in the Texas heat until he collapsed.

Here's the thing about 1984. It's easy to read it as the year everything went wrong. But it's also the year you could see what was coming — the speed, and the refusal to give up on a car that had nothing left. This endplate was part of that season.
