From Racetrack to Refined: Crafting Our F1-Inspired Wallets

Our wallets are the result of months of hard work and determination.. find out how we combine the finest italian leather and race used F1 carbon fibre to create an end product that everybody at Driver61 is extremley proud of.

The Leatherwork

Our wallets are handcrafted in a leather workshop in England, where skilled artisans work with our carefully chosen Badalassi Carlo Italian vegetable-tanned leather. Using traditional techniques, each piece is carefully cut, shaped, and stitched to preserve the leather's natural character. The process concludes with precise stamping and hand-painted finishing touches, ensuring exceptional quality in every detail.

The Carbon Fibre

The most challenging aspect of crafting our wallets has been transforming race-used carbon fibre, with its naturally irregular structure, into precisely measured components.

Each carbon fiber piece is cut to exact specifications – 50mm by 7mm, with 1mm radii on one end – using specialised saws and routers. This precision ensures seamless integration with the leather and maintains the wallet's structural integrity.

The Nameplate

Our nameplates, which are modelled on F1 chassis plates are produced right here in England, digitally printed on to matt stainless steel - maintaining our commitment to quality British craftsmanship.

The Final Assembley

The final assembly is carried out by a skilled artisan who brings together the leather, carbon fibre and nameplate components.

The result is a wallet that combines traditional craftsmanship with modern materials, designed to wow and built to last.
